  • Mike Brown's Pub Of The Week: The Hop and Vine in Hull.

    Howdy!

It's just me again with my regular update on my Pub Of The Week.

This week, I'm cider hunting! As there is a severe lack of real cider in Withernsea, I decided to head to my home town toseek some refreshment!

I'm no stranger to this weeks featured pub, and can often be found frequenting it on my lunch or after work. The place i'm talking about is The Hop and Vine, which is a small bar on Albion Street in Hull.

  • BONG! Here is the news..

    Hi all,

You may have heard about a new report that has been published today by a think tank saying that cities in the North - such as Hull, Sunderland and Bradford, are "beyond revival" and everyone living there should move south!

A mass migration to London, Cambridge and Oxford would stop residents becoming "trapped" in poorer areas, so say 'Policy Exchange'. They also said that current regeneration policies were "failing" the people they were meant to be helping.

  • Seaside FM 105.3: It's YOUR station, are you listening???

    Hi all,

Howdy!

Welcome to the official show page for a little something that I call The Mike Brown Radio Show.

The Presenter
Whose that clown on the radio?!? That'll be me then! I'm Mike, funnily enough I'm the host of The Mike Brown Radio Show each and every Sunday. Musically, I'm into anything that isn't overplayed, in particular I'm partcial to a slice Northern Soul, a dollop of Indie, a wodge of Funky House and a large helping of RRRROCK! In my time on earth, I've worked in a DIY store, a printers, and even sold double glazing. I've also been a Club DJ and a Pub Landlord, next, I'd quite like to be a wine taster!

The Show
Regular listeners will know that it can be a bit off the wall, but all the essential ingredients to keep you in touch, informed and entertained are in the mix.

Musically, it's an eclectic mix of 60's, 70's, 80's & 90's and what ever comes out of my box next! Generally, I don't do requests. This is because all I've ever get asked for is stuff that you can already hear on other radio stations, although if you can think of anything good enough you can email me by clicking 'ere.

The Features

  • 2.40 - 'The Sunday Roast' - 20 minutes of non-stop summer anthems.
  • 3.40 - 'What I've Mostly Been Learning About This Week' - More useless facts from my head!
  • 4.40 - 'The Same Old Song' - A classic track that has been sampled recently.
  • 5pm - 'The Seaside FM Soul Train' - 60 minutes of sweet soul music.

I'll also cram in 'The Pub Of The Week', the latest news and weather on the hour from IRN and updates on local events in the Seaside FM what's on guide.

The Theme
You may have noticed that I use a theme tune for various junctions of the show. The track I've adopted is a tune by Jay Spears called "I Like Mike". You can now watch the video for "I Like Mike" by clicking here, all together now "I Like Mike, What's Not To Like, We Like Mike, What's Not To Like..."
