A new landlord in Coniston, East Yorkshire claims he is set to lose vital business after he was told to take down advertising signs.

Stuart Campbell, who recently took over the Gardeners Country Inn at Coniston, had 4m by 2m signs made by a professional sign maker to advertise his business, but East Riding Council has since told him to take them down or risk being taken to court.

It comes just a couple of months after the owner of a café in Beverley was told to remove an A-board advertising her business ot face a £75 fine by the council after they said it would draw drivers' attention away from the road.
