New plans for recreation area in Easington

Easington Recreation and Sports Association have applied for planning permission to build a new recreation and sports area.
Although no fundraising efforts have begun, the club hoped to provide facilities for adults and children, including an all-weather pitch, bowling green and new changing facilities.

Hornsea School to host adventure morning for teenagers

Teenagers are being invited to sign up for a morning of adventure with the Royal Corps Of Signals at Hornsea School.
Teens can test their ability on an assault course, learn new skills and take part in team challenges.
The event takes place on Tuesday, August 17th, and costs £3, in aid of the Help For Heroes charity.

For the non-professional crew onboard the ten ocean racing yachts, the return to Hull Marina marks the end of a challenge of a lifetime as they battled the elements in search of victory and the title of Clipper 09-10 Round the World Yacht Race champions.

Disruption possible at Preston Crossroads

The first day of resurfacing work on Preston crossroads carriageway begins today (Sunday).
The work is part of a programme of scheme to improve roads in the East Riding and is due to take place on five Sundays in July and August.
The work consists of replacing worn ironwork, existing carriageway surface, some kerbing and surfacing to footpaths.
It will be carried out on Sundays to minimise disruption to Heavy Goods Vehicles, public and school transport, commuter traffic and residents. The dates are 18th and 25th in July and 8th, 15th and 22nd August 2010.

Major coast search

A major coastal search took place late on Tuesday night, with three lifeboats and coastguards from the Humber area joining forces.
At around 11.30pm, Humber Coastguard recieved reports of a man seen entering the water off Skipsea. They later requested the launch of the Hornsea Rescue boat and the Bridlington Lifeboats, to search the beach between Skipsea and Skirlington.
The search was called off in the early hours of Wednesday morning and nothing was found.

Launched last week the 'MyMP app' is designed to allow constituents to read news stories about Graham, see when he is holding street surgeries and even contact him on any issues they may have.
Graham said: "The iPhone and iPad are an important part of the way many people live their lives.
"This little app will help those constituents who are embracing new technology to keep in touch with the work I do in the constituency."
